Job Description

At True Food Kitchen, we pride ourselves on serving great food! This means that we rely on our prep cooks to prepare and portion our food products, beautifully plate and garnishes dishes, and ensure that our food is ready to be served to our guests consistently and efficiently.  Many items on our menu are seasonal which gives our prep cooks a variety of recipes to prepare as we rotate throughout the year.

 

We look for people who:

Have experience in kitchen preparation (no minimum years required).
Preferably have at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity in a high-volume restaurant.
The flexibility and availability to work early mornings, nights, holidays and/or weekends should be doable.
Exhibit exceptional knife skills.
Can work efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environment.
Read and execute a recipe.
A love of making great food and understands the accountability of presenting quality dishes!

 

What you will be doing:

Prepare menu ingredients following a recipe to produce consistent results.
Complete prep list, maintain station throughout shift, follow all specifications, and stock items as needed.
Rinse and cuts raw food products.
Portion products and follow recipes to ensure plate presentation looks great.
Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Prepare items for broiling, grilling, sautéing or other cooking methods based off recipe requirements.
Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
Follows sanitization standards, ensuring work station stays clean and organized, and follows all food handling standards.

Compensation: $15 – $21/ hour (or starting at state minimum if higher)
