About This Location

Healthy Dining at La Encantada

The Catalina Foothills location of True Food Kitchen sits inside La Encantada, the open-air shopping center perched above Tucson with views toward the Santa Catalinas. The restaurant draws guests from the surrounding Foothills and Midtown for weekday lunches, weekend brunch, and group dinners.

The dining room handles larger parties, and the patio frames the Santa Catalina Mountains for outdoor meals. The menu leans on whole-food, anti-inflammatory ingredients with dishes that shift each season, whether you're stopping in after shopping or meeting friends for dinner.

“ The food at True Kitchen is both healthy and delicious! Starting your day with fresh guacamole and a simple salad is the perfect choice. And let’s not forget the Bloody Mary made with Tito’s, it’s simply divine! The atmosphere is fantastic, with a vibrant indoor/outdoor bar that makes the experience even better. Stop by, enjoy a wholesome meal, and treat yourself to a refreshing drink! ”★★★★★Susana Loree · 5 months ago
“ True Food Kitchen has decently tasty food that is very healthy & fresh...but meagerly portioned. I've been to True Food a few times in the past, as they also have locations in the Southern California area. My family is mostly vegan and we were stopping by La Encantada for the day - True Food is a great option for plant-based/vegan foods, so we stopped here for lunch. There's a lovely patio outside of it that we found a table on, and our server was very friendly and efficient with his service. I appreciated that there were shades they could bring down if there was sun in your face (which it so often is when it's low in the sky on winter afternoons). As for the food, we shared a Mediterranean Hummus Appetizer, and I also ordered the Plant-Based Double Cheeseburger in order to give it a try! The Hummus Appetizer was very fresh and had great quality hummus with some red pepper and other spices/seasonings in it. I would've preferred more normal slices of pita bread rather than the crunchy, baked flatbread pieces they have instead...but it's still good quality and flavorful to go with the hummus. I found the portion size a bit disappointing for the price, however, and we paid $2 extra to get more of the baked flatbread pieces since there were so few to enjoy the hummus with. The Plant-Based Double Cheeseburger was....decent, although the pale white color of the buns were a bit off-putting, and the burger was a tad bit bland when it came to seasoning/flavor. I would have to say that there's many other vegan burgers I've had in the past that I would much prefer over this one, especially for the $20 price tag. I got an espresso martini for my drink, and it was very well made with good flavor, strength, and the right mix of all the ingredients. Overall, True Food Kitchen is a solid option for healthier food, especially if you have a plant-based/vegan diet. It is, however, also a bit overpriced and small with their portions...and I HAVE had better vegan food than this at other places. ”★★★★Parker Green · 4 months ago
